The Conjuring: Last Rites – One Last Night with the Warrens

So, imagine this: we are on the balcony, we are sipping our warm mugs, the city is buzzing in the background. And I lean in with that smile that says, “You can not imagine what I am about to bring.”
The answer is because guess what? The Conjuring has returned And it is not yet another horror movie to watch in a blanket. The next one is called The Conjuring: Last Rites and it is purported to be the final installment in the Ed and Lorraine Warren haunting saga. The last one, the final one.
Why This One is Different
Assuming you are as old as The Conjuring franchise is, you know what it is like: the suspenseful violins, the silence before a door slams, Annabelle staring at you with her glassy eyes. Last Rites is not like that though This is the final curtain of the Warrens, the ending of a curtain that has been terrifying the world since over a decade.
They are digging into the Smurl Haunting this time, a true story out of Pennsylvania in the late 70s. Think: a family troubled with vicious specters, items gathering, and something more evil at the controls. It is the type of case where you do not want to be the one switching the lights off at bed time.
The Trailer That Messed Me Up
I understand that trailers are to be teasing, but this one? It is right to the jugular. An unattached hand crawling out of the blue. Blood and hair coming out of someone mouth (yes, hair). Lorraine Warren muttering prayers that are more like pleads. And, of course, Annabelle appears. Only long enough to remind you she is not finished with us yet.
The Conjuring trailers are the only ones that make me look to see whether or not my hallway light is working.
The Face Behind the Fear
Here is where I get all geeky about The Conjuring:
- Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reprise their roles as Lorraine and Ed, which is already a warm, terrifying hug.
- Michael Chaves (who directed The Nun II and The Devil Made Me Do It) is also back in the directorial chair.
- James Wan, who created the jump scares that you just cannot wash off, has his fingerprints on the story as well.
So yeah, the team knows just how to make us scream, cover our eyes, then look through our fingers two seconds later.
Not Just Horror, But Goodbye
The part that’s getting me in the chest is that they could have done all of that, brought back all the demons and dolls in some Avengers-style battle. They did not. They decided to make this final more personal. More human.
Because behind every scare in this series, there has always been that beating heart, the love that the Warrens have had towards each other, that they are willing to face the unimaginable together. And The Conjuring: Last Rites will deliver that combination of fear and tenderness once more.
It is as though the franchise is telling its customers: “Yes we will scare you. But we will also tell you why you cared in the first place.”
Put It In Your Calendar (And Perhaps Say a Prayer)

The Conjuring: Last Rites releases in theaters on September 5, 2025. That leaves us with enough time to rewatch the previous ones, debate which scare was the worst (the clap in the first film, don’t even fight me), and get mentally ready to say goodbye.
And suppose you are in London just before the release? A pop-up Warrens Occult Museum will feature movie props and haunting illusions. In essence, an Instagram nightmare in the making.
And, One Last Cup of Tea?
The fact is this is not just a The Conjuring film. It is a parting. To the jump scares we hated to love, to the demons we kept secret, and to a pair of people, Ed and Lorraine, who showed us that bravery is not running away in the dark, but being there with the person you love.
All right, then we should have a tea party after the premiere. We will both have to talk it out. And perhaps, perhaps, sleep with the lights on.

Hamas Spokesman Abu Obeida ‘Eradicated’ in Gaza: Israel’s Decisive Blow

The announcement that Abu Obeida killed in Gaza sent ripples through international media and diplomatic circles. Israel confirmed that its air force carried out a targeted strike in Gaza City, eliminating Hamas’s long-standing spokesman. For years, Obeida’s masked figure and fiery speeches represented the face of Hamas’s military wing. His death marks not just a tactical moment in the conflict but also a symbolic blow to the group’s propaganda machinery.
Who Was Abu Obeida? The Voice Behind the Mask
One such contract terrorist is Obeida, whose real name is Hudhayfa Samir Abdallah al-Kahlout; despite only graduating from Islamic completed around 2007, he is already Hamas’ spokesperson. Never seen without his trademark red keffiyeh over his head, he developed an image of secrecy and defiance. He was in charge of releasing hostage videos, warning of rocket attacks, and broadcasting Hamas’ statements to both local and foreign audiences. He went from being merely a representative of Hamas to being an icon of strength for its backers and an emblem of dread for its foes.
The Strike That Changed the Narrative
Israeli warplanes on August 30, 2025, bombed a residential building in the Gaza City Rimal neighborhood. Abu Obeida was suspected of being inside, which led to the pinpoint bombing. While there was celebration at the operation’s success from Israel, local reports informed that at least 11 people including children were killed and dozens injured. The neighbourhood has already been under immense pressure due to regular bombardments, and now has the increased pressure of being the location of one of Israel’s highest profile attacks.
Israel Confirms: A Tactical Victory, a Propaganda Defeat
Israeli leaders wasted no opportunity to frame the event as a great accomplishment. Defence Minister Israel Katz said Abu Obeida had been “sent to the bottom of hell.” To that end, Prime Minister Netanyahu took a note of guarded celebration: that Hamas’s silence on the matter was its most definitive answer. The Shin Bet and other intelligence agencies commended the pure professionalism that underpins a surgical operation of that scale. For Israel, the assassination of Abu Obeida was more than just an assassination, it was about silencing one of the most prominent voices of Hamas’s propaganda.
Hamas’s Silence: Denial or Delayed Admission?
Interestingly Hamas still has not confirmed or denied the death. Their silence is not abnormal. In the past the group has been known to delay recognizing the deaths of senior leadership, possibly to keep morale high or reorganize its leadership. Some commentators have in return speculated that Hamas will find it difficult to accept the death of a name so strongly linked to its brand. The delay also raises questions about whether the group has alternative spokesmen lined up to take Obeida’s place.
Humanitarian Fallout Amid Escalation
The strike was against the background of an already catastrophic war. Since the escalation of fighting, thousands of Palestinian civilians have been killed, thousands displaced, many at risk of famine, and the health system is crumbling. Humanitarian agencies say Gaza City – now declared a combat zone – is up against a disastrous outcome with the escalation of Israeli operations. Quite honestly, the inhabitants of Obeida are not as much concerned by its loss as by the daily struggle required for survival in an unceasing bombardment.
Why Abu Obeida’s ‘Eradication’ Matters
From a military standpoint, Abu Obeida, murdered in Gaza, is a win-win in the sense that it now removes a principal source of propaganda. Symbolically, it represents the reach and continuity of Israel. That won’t likely severely cripple Hamas militarily. What it does do is change the psychological battleground, making it more difficult for Hamas to sell narratives and messages that appeal to supporters.
What’s Next in Engagement & Messaging
With Obeida lost, Hamas must now figure out how to change his name without losing the essence of his voice. Internationally, these denouncements will elicit responses that vary from measured support to increased concern about civilians being harmed. As diplomats start pushing for restraint, humanitarian groups focus attention on the need for aid. On the ground, that strike could further inflame tensions, turning the conflict into more battles and worsening the humanitarian crisis.
A Propaganda Giant Cut Down
And Abu Obeida’s death is more than another casualty in the Gaza conflict; it is also a seasonable propaganda defeat for Hamas. However, Israel’s capability to take out such a pivotal figure proves to be a testament to its resolve to eradicate Hamas’s influence despite the likelihood of a grim humanitarian situation. Whether that alters the course of conflict is a question, but one thing is sure: the masked persona that defined Hamas’s story for almost two decades is gone.

FBR Finally Scraps Annoying 5% Tax on International Online Shopping — Big Win for Pakistani Shoppers

Hey, online shopping crew… take a deep breath. That annoying 5% tax that’s been adding stress to our carts on SHEIN, Temu, AliExpress, and basically every foreign site you love? It’s gone. Just like that. You can finally grab that bag, those shoes, or that cute kitchen gadget without feeling like you’re paying a random extra fee.
If you’ve been putting off checkout because those totals were stressing you out, now’s your chance. Let me spill the beans.
The Tax That Made Everyone Groan
Earlier this year, some folks decided it would be a good idea to introduce the Digital Presence Proceeds Tax (DPPT), fancy name, huh? Basically, it was a 5% tax slapped on anything you ordered from international sites that don’t have offices in Pakistan.
We’re talking about:
- SHEIN
- Temu
- AliExpress
- iHerb
And even digital services like Netflix, Zoom, Canva, yeah, your binge-watching and design tools got hit too.
So, no matter what you were buying or subscribing to, there was always a little “surprise” at the end. And honestly? People were not happy.
Prices shot up, carts were ditched faster than New Year’s resolutions, and many of us ended up back on local sites like Daraz just to avoid the extra charge. Even the US-Pakistan Business Council stepped in and said, “Hey, this is not cool, and it’s going to scare off foreign investors.”
The Plot Twist We All Needed
Fast forward to July 31, 2025, and boom, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) drops a big announcement. They released S.R.O. 1366(I)/2025, which pretty much says, “Okay, fine, no more 5% tax.” And the best part? It’s retroactive from July 1.
What does that mean? If you ordered something after July 1, you shouldn’t get charged that extra fee anymore. And if you already did… well, you might be side-eyeing your last checkout right now.
Why the sudden change? A mix of reasons:
- People were really complaining.
- Pakistan is in the middle of important trade talks with the US.
- The IMF wasn’t a fan of “discriminatory” taxes on global e-commerce.
So yeah… looks like your rants on social media and some big-name lobbying actually paid off.
What This Means for You (and Your Cart)
Now that the tax is gone, here’s the scoop:
- Online shopping just got cheaper. Your SHEIN dresses, Temu gadgets, and AliExpress tech finds will actually cost what they say they cost.
- Subscriptions are easier on your wallet: Netflix, Zoom, Canva, no more sneaky extra fee at the end.
- Global e-commerce is looking good, and Pakistan’s showing it wants to keep things friendly with the big international players.
Not everyone’s celebrating this news, though. Local online shops still have to deal with taxes, and they’re not happy that international sellers are getting a break. But for us regular shoppers? It’s like stumbling upon a surprise discount code we didn’t even ask for.
Quick Reference: FBR Tax Removal
- What Changed: The 5% Digital Presence Proceeds Tax on foreign online goods & services is gone.
- When It Starts: From July 1, 2025 (backdated).
- Where You’ll See It: SHEIN, Temu, AliExpress, iHerb, Netflix, Zoom, Canva, and more.
- Why It Happened: Public pushback, trade talks, and IMF suggestions.
So… What’s Next?
Honestly, I’ve already filled my Temu cart with way too many random items, you know, the classic situation where you go in for just a phone case and come out with LED strip lights, five storage boxes, and a sushi-making kit. And now? I’m checking out without that annoying guilt of “ugh, more tax.”
If you’ve been eyeing something online, now’s your chance. Just keep in mind that some of these sites sell out faster than hot samosas at a cricket match, so don’t overthink it.
This kind of price drop doesn’t happen often; it’s usually the opposite. So go ahead, celebrate, call your shopping buddy, and maybe… just maybe… leave a bit of room on your credit card.
Let’s be real, we’re all about to go a little wild.

Bryan Johnson’s Anti-Aging Routine

Can This Billionaire’s Health System Really Reverse Time?
Let’s find out how a technology billionaire was fed up with aging and found a way out to grow without aging anymore. Meet Bryan Johnson. He is the man who sold his company to PayPal for $800 million and then decided to have a life goal, which was to stop aging. He didn’t diet or drink green smoothies and attended the gym. He wants the body of an 18-year-old, and he’s funding the most intense anti-aging experiment in the world to make that happen. Johnson is attempting what some call biological immortality.
His project is called Blueprint. This project is a part of technology and also a mix of science fiction work. The main thing to focus on is, will this actually work out the way Bryan wants it to? Is it just a new chaos of a billionaire trying new experiments to become a topic on social media?

Let’s dive deep into what he is after and why he wanted this to happen.
The Blueprint Project
Inside the World’s Most Ambitious Longevity Experiment

The Blueprint project is a full-body operating system planned by Bryan Johnson. He thinks that the organs in a human body are similar to software, which, if it is always kept updated, will never die and will function properly to prevent a human body from aging. Blueprint is not a diet or fitness plan.
To make his plan work, he appointed an expert team of more than 30 doctors and specialists. They monitored every moment and what he ate, followed by all the exercises he did in the gym. They checked the elasticity of his skin to the speed of the erections he had in the nighttime. He spends millions of dollars a year monitoring hundreds of biomarkers, analyzing his biological age, and optimizing every cell in his body.
You might be curious about what his needs are to do this? It is because he wants to discover and become a human who will grow by age, but the skin will remain the same without surgeries. He is a normal human, but he doesn’t give priority to emotions and opinions. They feel inapt for him.
From his perspective, if Spanish is working better on the body than kale, then he is preferring kale without a second thought. It’s weird and might seem inappropriate. But he finds it serious and stress-free. The question here is, is this actually working on his body?
Eat Like It’s a Science
His Zero-Sugar, Calorie-Controlled Diet
Bryan Johnson eats exactly 1,977 calories a day. Not 1,978, not 2,000. Whatever he eats is always counted in the calorimeter, which calculates every single particle present in the food.
Below is a table of what Bryan Johnson’s intake is on a regular basis to keep him maintain his body and stop aging:
His diet | – 100% vegan – Zero sugar, zero alcohol, zero exceptions – The same meals every day, eaten at the same times |
What he eats daily | – For breakfast, “Nutty Pudding,” which is made of fiber and mashed nuts with berries and oils. – Lunch and dinner are almost equal. They are designed to control metabolism and stomach health |
The goal | – Maintain his blood glucose levels – reduce inflammation, – prevent aging triggers, such as insulin spikes |
Does science support this? | – Research shows that steady blood sugar, plant-based diets, and calorie restriction can support endurance – Johnson takes it to an extreme that most nutritionists would never recommend without serious medical oversight |
Sleep Engineering
Why Bryan Prioritizes Rest Like a CEO
Bryan surely looks like a human, but his mind doesn’t work like a normal human. He thinks only sleeping is boring, so he engineers his sleep.
He has a room that looks more like a laboratory. He tracks his sleep because he believes that when a body sleeps, the real anti-aging work starts. He means that proper sleep plays a crucial role in his anti-aging plan.
Below is a table of how he observed it:
What his rooms have | – Pitch-black with blackout curtains – Cool room temperature for optimal melatonin – No screens or blue light hours before bed -Wears blue-light blocking glasses in the evening |
What he does in it | – He tracks every second of his sleep – He uses wearables and scores his nightly recovery |
The research proves that he believes what’s right. Sleep is the prime time for the body to restore and repair itself at the cellular level. A sleep that is deep and uninterrupted helps repair DNA, balance hormones, and reduce oxidative stress. These things are the key mechanisms of aging.
A Workout Built for Cellular Youth

Exercise is one of the patterns he follows, which is crucial in maintaining body balance. He trains himself daily with a plan he created for a perfect long life
Here’s what he follows regularly:
What exercises? | Why does he do these exercises? |
Strength training | To preserve lean muscle mass |
HIIT and cardio | To maintain heart health and boost mitochondrial function |
Micro workouts | (throughout the day) To avoid long periods of sitting |
The major and one more goal of his life is a high VO2 max. In simple terms, this means that his intake of oxygen will be extremely intense. It is technically similar to pursed-lips breathing. Research shows that a strong VO2 max is one of the best predictors of a long life.
Biohacking Tools & Technology
Peeking into the Future of Personal Health
Wherever he goes, he has machines on him and with him because he doesn’t want to miss anything from his “anti-aging” plan and wants to do the exercises, calories, so he can achieve what he desires. His full-time focus is on resting.
His health collection includes:
- Full-body MRIs and ultrasounds
- Thermal imaging
- AI health models
- Continuous glucose monitors
- Sleep trackers, HR monitors, and gut biome tests
If we compile whatever we have talked about above, he runs a 24/7 health lab on himself. This helps him analyze how every action, from brushing his teeth to breathing exercises, has an impact on aging.
The way he chooses is great, but he somehow sounds obsessive. But his motive is to tell everyone that self-care helps people look younger than their original age. Celebrities look younger, ever wondered why they have a perfect body or clear skin? They do workouts in private so they can become influencers in public.
Blood of the Young? Breaking Down the Plasma Transfusions
In 2023, Johnson made headlines when he revealed he’d undergone blood plasma exchange, receiving blood from his 17-year-old son.
This isn’t science fiction. It’s based on a controversial theory called parabiosis, where young blood may have rejuvenating effects on older bodies. Animal studies have shown some promise, but human data are still extremely limited.
Ethically? It raised some eyebrows. Scientifically? It’s inconclusive.
Even Johnson has since said he stopped the practice after finding no measurable benefit. So maybe vampires aren’t the answer after all.
The Metrics That Matter
How He Measures Biological Age
So, how does Johnson know his methods are working?
He uses high-technology tools to measure his “biological age”, which isn’t how old you are in years, but how old your body acts.
He tracks | – Epigenetic clocks – Inflammation levels – Organ age – Skin elasticity and bone density |
According to his team, Johnson has the heart of a 37-year-old, skin of a 28-year-old, and lung capacity of an 18-year-old, even though he’s in his 40s.
Skeptical? You should be. While these metrics are fascinating, many scientists warn that biological age tools are still evolving and not 100% reliable.
Science or Self-Experimentation Theater?
Here’s where things get murky.
Some experts say Johnson is pioneering a new age of data-driven wellness. Others say it’s all just an expensive biohacking obsession with no real-world application.
So which is it?
Likely both. His methods aren’t practical for most people, but they are pushing conversations in medicine, longevity research, and health tracking.
And if nothing else, Johnson has become the world’s most consistent health guinea pig.
Can You Apply Any of This to Your Life (Without Millions)?
You don’t need a private health team or a million-dollar budget to benefit from some of Johnson’s habits.
Here are 5 takeaways almost anyone can try:
- Prioritize sleep like your life depends on it, because it does.
- Eat less sugar and more fiber-rich, plant-based foods.
- Exercise consistently, focusing on both strength and cardio.
- Track your health, even basic metrics like steps, sleep, and heart rate help.
- Avoid extreme habits, sustainability beats perfection.
The key? Aim for progress, not obsession. Aging well doesn’t require perfection, just consistent, smart habits.
The Man, the Mission, and the Mirror
Bryan Johnson is a fascinating figure, part biohacker, part health monk, part human science experiment. His journey raises big questions:
- Should we try to stop aging, or just age better?
- Where’s the line between innovation and obsession?
- And what happens when data becomes more important than desire?
One thing is clear: while most of us won’t live like Bryan Johnson, his radical routine offers a powerful reminder.
Your health is an investment, and time is your most valuable currency.
